Who are the Texas Iron Spikes?
Texas Iron Spikes is a men’s service organization at The University of Texas at Austin, dedicated to helping and improving our campus and community. They are also the official men’s spirit group for The University of Texas Baseball Team.
Why a softball tournament?
The Spring Classic Softball Tournament will allow the university community to participate in a friendly day of competitive softball that will directly benefit Special Olympics Texas (SOTX).
Who does the tournament benefit?
All proceeds from the tournament will benefit Special Olympics Texas. Special Olympics Texas is an organization dedicated to providing people with intellectual disabilities an opportunity to achieve. Its mission is to help athletes gain self-confidence and learn additional skills that make it possible for them to become significant and productive citizens of our communities. Your generosity can provide a life-changing experience for individuals with intellectual disabilities. More information can be found at: www.sotx.org or by contacting Special Olympics Texas at (512) 835-9873.
Why should I donate money to this event?
Last year, the tournament was extremely successful. The Spring Classic Softball Tournament raised over $10,000 for our philanthropy. With 20 teams, there were over 300 people at the event. We expect the event to be an even bigger success this year. Your donation is pivotal to the success of the tournament, but more importantly it is key to the future of Special Olympics Texas.
Special Olympics Texas is a registered 501(c)(3), non-profit organization supported by private donations from individuals, corporations and organizations throughout the state. Since the Special Olympics program is available in every community, your donation benefits local athletes.
In addition, your company will receive recognition for your contribution, as the name of your business and your donation will be recognized on the event program, t-shirt, banners, and mentioned during the awards ceremony.
Why should my business sponsor the softball tournament?
This is a great opportunity for businesses to market themselves to 50,000 students at The University of Texas at Austin. Sponsors will have the best opportunity to advertise themselves via the official tournament t-shirt, fence banners, and the distributed pamphlets. We will do everything in our power to bring your name to the forefront through all available mediums (radio spots, prize distribution, flyers, banners, etc.).
The population of this university is staggering. By donating money to this charity, the Texas Iron Spikes will help open the doorway into marketing towards college students and the 300 participants in the event. This can lead to better future relations between your business and a large consumer/client base. If you would like to sponsor the Spring Classic Softball Tournament, please be aware of the contribution levels (or in value or equipment donated):
