Why a softball tournament?
The Spring Classic Softball Tournament will allow the university community to participate in a friendly night of competitive softball that will directly benefit the future Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas.

Who does the tournament benefit?
All proceeds from the tournament will go to benefiting the Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas. Your contributions help maintain the newly constructed medical facility, a regional center of excellence for pediatric care and the lone solely dedicated pediatric medical facility in a 46-county region. They strive to better accommodate underprivileged children and their families who have little access to healthcare services. The hospital also works proactively with other community organizations to promote health and well-being before children become seriously ill. More information can be found at: www.childrensaustin.org or by contacting the Children's Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas of Austin at (512) 324-3820.

Why should I donate money to this event?
Last year, the tournament was extremely successful. The Spring Classic Softball Tournament raised over $15,000 for the medical center. With 20 teams, there were over 300 people at the event. We expect the event to be an even bigger success this year. Your donation is pivotal to the success of the tournament, but more importantly it is key to Central Texas’ children’s futures.

The Children’s Medical Center Foundation relies heavily on donations to keep its operations running efficiently, and its costs to families low. In particular, your donation will help families and children who otherwise might not be able to afford the costs of the hospital.

In addition, your company will receive recognition for your contribution, as the name of your business and your donation will be recognized on the event program, t-shirt, banners, and mentioned during the awards ceremony.

Why should my business sponsor the softball tournament?
This is a great opportunity for businesses to market themselves to 50,000 students at The University of Texas at Austin. Sponsors will have the best opportunity to advertise themselves via the official tournament t-shirt, fence banners, and the distributed pamphlets. We will do everything in our power to bring your name to the forefront through all available mediums (radio spots, prize distribution, flyers, banners, etc.).

The population of this university is staggering. By donating money to this charity, the Texas Iron Spikes will help open the doorway into marketing towards college students and the 300 participants in the event. This can lead to better future relations between your business and a large consumer/client base.
