On April 30, 2011 the Texas Iron Spikes will host the Tenth Annual Spring Classic Softball Tournament benefiting Special Olympics Texas (SOTX). While being the official men’s baseball spirit group, Texas Iron Spikes is the premier service organization at The University of Texas at Austin, prided on its dedication to helping and improving our campus and community. Our yearly mission is to bring our campus and community together to play in a benefit softball tournament, but more importantly, to give back to SOTX.  

Special Olympics Texas is an organization dedicated to providing people with intellectual disabilities an opportunity to achieve. Its mission is to help athletes gain self-confidence and learn additional skills that make it possible for them to become significant and productive citizens of our communities. Since the Special Olympics program is available in every community, your donation will benefit local athletes. As a donor, your generosity can provide a life-changing experience for individuals with intellectual disabilities well into the future. 

Since the tournament’s birth, it has raised nearly $100,000 for our philanthropy. With your help and generosity, together we can help those who are truly in need. Your support is vital to the success of the Spring Classic. Contributions of all sizes and types are needed and much appreciated.
